Awareness Test

Saw this floating around a while back, but I just got around to watching it.

Go ahead, do the test.

Maybe it's from my years of studying psychology at Tulane but I was on to that one before they started moving.

A classic test like this that was run over several days went like this: A guy in a purple gorilla suit stands on the sidewalk waving. He is about 30 feet from a stop sign. Drivers are observed as they approach the sign and pass the man in the gorilla suit. They possibly asked people as they stopped if they'd seen the gorilla. Quite a bit more than half (I can't remember the exact figure but just remember being astonished by it) did not notice the purple gorilla at all.

I don't know what that says about us as independent agents (or drivers for that matter) but I don't think it's good.

I didn't see him the first time.
