Last night my connectivity problems flared up again. The whole time it was a major struggle. I was losing my connection and couldn't get anything to work right.
At my wit's end, I contacted Comcast to see if they could help. They said that my modem health was fine and directed me to their help section on their website. I followed all the instructions to check the connection on my end and all was well. Since then, everything is blazing. I can safely surmise that they were throttling me and when I called them out they eased up. The bastards. I can't be sure about this, but if I get home from work and have no problems, I'd wager that this is the case.
I don't download p2p all that much, although I do subscribe to a few mp3 blogs, and of course, I upload a fair bit. A short while back, some of you might remember, my connection was shut off for a day. When it came back up, my IP address had changed and not to long after that all of these problems cropped up. This is all conjecture on my part, but I wouldn't put it past them.
Wish me luck, and with any, I'll be back on the axe for some Saturday morning posting. Now I'm going to crash. Have a wonderful day, all, and thanks for the kind and encouraging comments.

Hello John,
I've had problems with Comcast as well. Believe it or not, until four months ago, I was still on dial-up. Although very slow, I never had problems connecting. I just could not get to some of the "fun stuff" -- like YouTube, music, etc., because it took forever to up/download.
Well, now I get all of that, but my computer will freeze up for no rhyme nor reason. The Comcast "powerboost" perhaps is boosting too much (or too little).
I think if I get a wireless router, I may have more luck.
In any case, good to hear I'm not alone. (And also NOT good to hear that I'm not alone!)
To -- well, connectivity.
Geoff
Hang tight, John!
I'm hanging best I can, Ms. Nag!
Well, Geoff, it seems there are more than just the two of us. Since I've been having these problems, I've been hearing a good variety of horror stories.
I'd like to go wireless. I'm looking into it. I need to go Mac, too. Maybe Linux.
Why can't I ever have a technical problem!?!
You will, someday, Mr. Crow, you will.
(chuckle) I finally made the decision to bypass blogger and Picassa altogether. when I retooled the template, I started uploading all of my stuff to DivShare, and now I just paste the image code into the blogger editor. It helps in two ways: I have control of the art, and I can avoid the temperamental upload problems with blogger's editor.
Having said that, I don't want to disparage your new project on Tumblr. I will eventually will end up there too, or with a project that has a very similar format.
wishing you many fewer technoid problems in all of your endeavors.
So far, so good. I am convinced that my recent problems were internal. We'll see how it goes.
