season's freaking greetings....

I had it in mind to do a little blogging Saturday morning, however, after being held up at gunpoint last night, with every sip of beer my resolve dwindles. I thought I could work through it but I need to disengage for a while longer.

I was surprised at how calm I was at the moment, but as the adrenaline wears off and the thoughts and emotions start swirling, it all gets to be a bit disorienting.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday. I'll see you, in force, on Monday.

That's unbelievably awful. I've had a gun pointed my way in the past, (twice) and there is no feeling quite like it. Just kind of a dull ache in the bottom of your stomach. I've never been robbed though, so I can only imagine that it is like the above only an order of magnitude more traumatic.

I hope you have a much, much better New Year, and stay safe.

Peace.

Happened to me this year, too. How long did we live in New Orleans without being robbed at gunpoint?

Holy Crap! I hope you are ok!

Thanks everyone, I'll be fine, if not a little bit more cautious.

All those years in New Orleans, never held up once. Twice in 8 years in Savannah. It still sucks the second time around.

Yikes, that is horrific! Glad you came away from that encounter physically unscathed. Wishing you a vastly improved new year...

McNutty's variation #5: That which does not kill us makes us freakin' paranoid.

Thanks. This year has been interesting... in a Chinese proverb sort of way!

My sympathy. Hope you can clear your head and shake of the paranoia.

I appreciate it.

Luckily, it hasn't really degraded into paranoia... it's more like... enhanced sensitivity and vigilance in regard to personal safety in an urban environment.

There was a shooting and three more armed robberies within a few blocks of my place on Tuesday.

These things happen in waves, usually one guy or a small group. They get greedy, get caught and then it calms down again.

They use the K-9 units to track them by their adrenaline. Hard to hide once they get your scent.
