A couple of trivial thoughts: Kobe Bryant and guerilla semantics

Kobe Bryant's middle name is Bean. His dad's nickname is Jellybean, likely for the shape and look of his skull.

His parents named him after the famous beef of Kobe, Japan, which they saw on a restaurant menu.

From the age of 6 to the age of 13 he lived in Italy, spoke fluent Italian and said that if he would have stayed there, he would have become a professional soccer player.

That's enough of that.

And now for something completely different...

Have you ever noticed that when you leave a voice mail greeting you say "Hi," but when you answer the phone, you say "Hello?" Unless you can see who's calling, in which case, you usually say "Hey."

As an exercise in guerrilla semantics, try answering your calls by saying "Hi." The confusion on the other end of the line will be palpable. It's really quite amusing.

That's all.
